07 off road gas mileage
well im getting on my last tank about 14 mpg. 4.0 FX OFF ROAD supercab auto. about 600 miles new. last full tank got me 240 miles? not to good but im hoping it gets better once i get some miles on her. i think it gets better on the highway but i dont drive that much so most of my driving is city. i love the power of the 4.0 sohc and rides real nice for a truck. i really dont worry about the mileage because its still new. what are you guys getting on a new 4.0?. thanks.

Until I went to 33s I was seeing a range of 15.089 to 21.883 mpg.
I have a pile of receipts from my switch to 33s to present that I still need to enter, but off of memory I've seen about a little over 14 to a little over 19 mpg.
This is all mixed driving, city and highway, though some more city and others more to exclusively highway with some off-roading mixed in to the factor. I wouldn't say I beat the **** out of it, but at times I'd drive hard. 8 out of 10 times I'm usually driving easy, shifting anywhere from 2000-2500 rpms, higher if I'm accelerating into interstate or highway traffic from on-ramps. Higher is 2500-3500, 3000-3500 is usually for 3rd and 4th gears.

I don't start seeing the MPH difference until I hit over 50; 60 = ~65mph, at least on my speedo
EDIT:
Of course if I wanted to find % increase it would be (new - old) / old. Then * 100
33-31 = 2
2/31 = 0.064516
0.064516 * 100 = 6.4516% difference from 31 to 33.
Which now begs the question...
Would I use this number instead of the 33/31 value to multiply into mileage readout in order to compensate for the tire increase?

Hmm sounds like my ranger. They put those stupid 16" on my 04 ranger and my old 97 ranger that had the same 4.0L engine with 31x10.5x15 got about the same gas mileage. I have mine all stock exept i got one of those K@N airfilters. I thought those were suppost to give you gas mileage. I average in the country where i drive 20+ miles to work around 280 to a tank full. Winter time though i am seeing right now between 240-260 to a tank full. I am hoping maybe some new tires will help my gas mileage alittle.
