96 Ranger to 01 explorer engine swap?

Yes, should be 4.0l SOHC in 2001 Explorer, and should have the timing chains and tensioners updated before installing, 1997-2003 4.0l SOHC had the bad tensioners
Basically the same as swapping in a V8 or any other engine that's not the original size in the 1996
Engine/trans, computer and wiring harness
Maybe drive shaft changes, length
Exhaust system, maybe just custom bends to match up manifold connection to pipes, if 1996 is a V6
Radiator unless hoses match up
IMO, this is not a "good swap" because you can go out and buy a 2001 to 2011 Ranger with 4.0l SOHC already installed, and a factory install
The V8 swap was popular because its the same parts and work but not available from factory
