Crank Pulley

For those that have taking the crank pulley, what did you use? The haynes says to use a strap wrench to hold the pulley while using a breaker bar to get the bolt off. I was thinking about using an impact but I'm not sure if there is enough room.

I think you can get an air-wrench on it, but I dont know for sure. Why are you taking it off? Underdrive pulleys?

My bolt came right off with a gentle touch of the impact. Talking about the crank bolt.

Now...to pull the balancer/pulley combo, I've seen people use a steering wheel puller, a 2-jaw puller, and a timing gear puller. Alot of different ways to pull it....all ofthem sort of a pain. lol.

Ok cool. I didn't want to borrow an impact only to find out there is no room for it. As far as the puller I'll see what Vatozone has.

Did you locktite the new bolt?

Are you pulling your fan and fan shroud? That's the only way i was able to do it...

I used red locktite.

When pushing the balancer/pulley back on, dont forget to silocone the key on the crankshaft.

I'm pulling the fan according to Haynes. I need a new clutch anyway.

Silicone? I didn't know that but I will do it. Thanks.
