Ordering a programmer soon

i got a ticket on base for speeding since i dont know how fast i am going any more due to gears and tires.
i am just going to get the 87 mileage and 87 performance tune... with these 2, is the gains noticeable at all?
im mainly concerned with the speedo and odometer getting corrected...
and is the x-cal 2 still the one to get, i thought i saw something about an x cal 3 or something. not sure though.
what changes can be made to get firmer shifts also?

I think most places are carrying the xcal-3 now.

The x-cal is just the vessel. The tuner behind the tune is where the real value is. Doug is a fine tuner... if you can get him to communicate.

Tell your tuner of choice what you want to change and he'll do it. (hopefully)

No matter which tuner you use, you'll get three tunes. I'd sugget a 87octane daily driver, 93octane daily driver, and a 93octane towing tune.

Also, tell them to turn on all options for you to change.

look for an electrical plug on the firewall. The sequence is 3 letters followed by a number- ex: JKP9.

On some newer years the sequence is under the pcm. 2 or 3 bolts removed will allow the pcm to slide out enough to see the sequence. The pcm is at the electrical plug.

Some years, maybe 2007, don;t have it anywhere. In that case they will have to send you a blank. You plug it into the truck and get the strategy code. Send this to the tuner and they will e-mail the tunes.

the simplest thing to do is place the order with the info you have and they should contact you with additional info needed.
