wondering because i have mine exiting in front of the rear tire i lost performance- sport truck exhaust from gibson doesn't recommend it for heavy duty towing.. wondering if should buy the complete magnaflow kit ( i have just the muffler) or get a tuner ( though can't get anyone to respond to emails and if pre sales service that poor...) i have a 4.0 ohv 5 speed

How do you know you lost power from the exhaust? Couldn't it just be the truck?

I noticed no difference now that my exhaust is in front of the rear tires.

Gibson Performance Exhaust - Trucks, SUV, Diesel, RV, and Marine. Performance Exhaust for the Enthusiast the fact that gibson doesn't recommend the super truck style ( exits in front of tires) for towing is making me think

it just says not for heavy duty towing. doubt youlll be doing any "heavy duty" towing with a ranger. And the last i checked you cant even get that super truck system from gibson for a ranger.

i realize that just something making me think... if affects a full size v8 truck on a v6 compact truck shouldn't make more of a difference? but i do tow on a regular basis- just perhaps not heavy duty- not fifth wheel stuff anyways

i wouldnt worry about it, if you are gonna drop the money for a diffent exahust save it and drop it into a tuner, a custom tune at that. it will be worth while and probly gain much much more than the exahust is claiming you lost.

X2, im sure its a generalized statement they slap on for some of the larger trucks that can and occasionally do carry the heavy loads.

how much performance did you lose? I have notice basically no difference having mine dumped before the axle. You not so much losing performance as much as just moving the torque around.

exactly! i cant hardly believe you could feel the difference? I have an airaid intake on mine and a gibson extreme dual, and i can tell you that aside from being louder, it is not noticeably different that it was before.

the only real advantage i can see in buying the magnaflow over the other exhausts, is that they have a stainless option, which is going to last longer if you drive salted roads.

I don't think it has a thing to do with performance and everything to do with the drone that comes with exhaust in front of the tire
