Hensen 92 octane tune is pinging
I bought a tuner 6-8 months ago from James Jensen (Xcal2), with an 87 tune, a 91 tow, and 91 street tune. I've been running the 91 tow tune mostly with 92 octane (it's what we have) and it has some slight pinging (more lately with towing) under load at 1500-3000 RPM. If I step on it and it downshifts the pinging goes away.
Can someone who is familiar with programming give me some advice on adjusting the variables on this tune? Don't feel like playing phone tag with James.
Thanks
Brian
This is for the 05 Sport Trac 4.0L SOHC, by the way

I had a tune from Henson last year.. and now I tune myself.
The very first thing I'd do is not assume it's the tune. I'd *assume* it's the fuel. It's very much possible that the octane they sold you is either old or simply not up to spec. Trust me on this one, run that tank low and go fill up at a different station. Preferably a shell or BP.
If it goes away.. then you'll know w/o a doubt it was the fuel from that station.
If it's still there then I'd next suggest a good induction cleaning and a battery dis-connect to reset the KAM.
Clean the MAF wire, the TB, and pour in a good intake valve cleaner. (I like the chevron with "techron" stuff)
I'm pretty sure that if you've done all that the preformance will be back and the knocking will be gone.
