2008 Ranger Sport 4x4 Installing Flowmaster Muffler??

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if a Flowmaster 40 Delta flow will fit on my 08 Ranger Sport 4.OL 4x4 as the stock muffler is oval/round shaped just wondering if someone has an underneath pic of a flowmaster muffler installed on a truck similar to mine so I can see how its gonna fit

Thanks

Chris

I will help answer your question.....

Any Flowmaster will fit your truck. There are a few guys on here that have the Delta installed.

Thanks Lord of War!

I'm assuming the flowmaster muffler needs to be mounted on its side?
With running SIDO rear exit is it possible to keep the spare tire in place?

Yea i had a shop custom bend the pipes, mandrel bent and had them put the muffler on.. Only thing you need to worry about is inlet diameter which should be 2 1/4" .. And i have the delta 40.

I've got the SI/DO Delta 40 on my 07 Sport. If you still want a pic I can get one tomorrow.

This is a great site, lol.

You can keep your spare and everything. There is nothing that needs to be taken off your truck so a exhuast system will fit.

As far as the placement of the muffer (on its side vs. on its bottom) it all depends on if its a SI/DO or a SI/SI. The offset of the inlet/outlet shouldnt make much a difference.

Here's a few pics. Don't mind the crappy welds. The guy that did it was getting out of the business and wasn't worried bout looks. He did my systems for several years and the others looked better.

The delta 40 is supposed to flow better too, I don't know if thats true or not. I really like my super 44, sounds great. I don't care about performance so I didn't check.

Deltas are quieter than the original 40. I had 40s on a Galaxie i used to own with dumps and it was very loud and had terrible resonance. I have had 50s, and Delta 40s on my Cougar and the 50s lacked that edge i wanted, while the deltas are about perfect for me. The good kind of loud yet lacking the bad resonance.

Mine depends on how I run my setup. My past truck was 2.5" everything. As you can see from my pics on this truck I kept everything stock ahead of the muffler. Muffler itself is 3'' inlet and 2.5" outlets. My pipes are 2.5" out of the back. May decide to run a true dual setup like I did on the previous truck.

the delta flow has 3 extra baffles to cut down on interior resonance, the original 40 has been discontinued and replaced with the super 44 (i sell the stuff if you couldnt tell lol)

www.performancepeddler.com

if you want to reduce interior resonance alot. do not run a dual outlet muffler, run a single outlet with a y-pipe after it

I guess the delta 40 scavenges better too... I was going to go with the super 40 (not 44) at the time but i was told the delta 40 was more suitable for the 4.0, or any v6 and would reduce the high pitch sound..
