rattling nosie

when i give my truck gas it makes a rattling or peckin nosie on the driver side and it woont do it if im not givin it any gas i let off and it will stop any one have this i have a 04 xlt

no mechanic but it could be number of problems
valves is what im thinking, but like i said im not a mechanic

Could be pre-ignition (pinging). Try a tank of 93 octane gas to see if this eliminates the noise.

My guess is your primary chain tensioner.

I'd second the cheap gas and some pinging. Mine does this once in a great while, probably due to a less-than-perfect truck of gas that the gas station got.

my 01 does that too it runs fine i was thinking it was maybe just something to do with the throttle cable being loose?
