idle air control valve question....please help!

my truck idles like crap and i cant think of anything else other than the idle air control valve,could it be the problem?,thanks for the help

Well, your description is a bit vague. But that is the first thing I'd clean.
Second would be to look for vacuum leaks.

Clean the MAF & IAC. Then start checking all them little vacuum hoses,
