single chamber flowmaster

my 40 series is too quiet for my taste, and i wasnt sure if i'd get some more flow out of this 10 series.... or maybe it would be too much flow and not enough back pressure.

any thoughts? comments? ideas?

if you knwo anyone that has this muffler i'ld love to hear a soundclip.

Thanks!

Alon

haha. alon, i remeber when i did the review of my borla and you wanted one...Now your saying the flow isint loud enough! lol

Do you have emissions? If not then if i was in your situation, i'd cut the last cat off. I know on the 01's we have 4 cats and there is no sensor after the very last cat. The 04+ has 3 cats, and i guess the new 06's have 2. I am contemplating doing this myself...

I 'gutted' my last cat, but I didn't really get a different tone to it or anything. But it may of just been me, I dunno.

I meant just cut it off....Tell me why the 04-05s 4.0s with 3 cats sound different/better than the 01-03s with 4 cats. Watch this VID if you dont know -

https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=28595

Closely listen to Bills truck (Black 04 level 2) VS. Evans (Red 01 4x4) (they both have flowmaster 40 series mufflers. Tell me Bills dosent sound better.

i have a 40 series on my truck and i like the way it sounds, but its kinda loud.
i really like the way my dads sounds, it has a low tone growl but its not to quiet and not to loud.

heres a pic and a videoclip of when he just put it on with pipes.
its not the best video, but w/e it gives you an idea.

thanks for everyone's responses... but i dont need a "my 40 series sounds good" response.

i already have a 40 series dumped but am not totally happy with it... why not? because i can only have an exhaust for so long before i want something else....

i know how flowmasters sound, the only thing i'm asking for is for single chamber flomaster 10 series..... ooooor if you have a soundclip of a 4.0 with a magnaflow that would be good too.

thanks again

I like the sound of my current setup, a zero-chamber y-pipe with daul tailpipes.

As far as I can tell, very little low-end loss and I gained top-end power, that I can feel. She really goes at WOT.

5speedin2.3, on your Dad's truck, how did he get daul inlets, did he y-out after the last cat or what? Looks cool.

I know you were looking for something in particular, but if you are looking for a loud muffler, you may want to consider glasspacks. That's what I have and it's pretty loud, sorry no sound clips.

but i have the last cat removed for this, "edit" daniel has the picture somewhere lol

basicly i removed the last cat and made a custom flange with 2 pipes off it going to 2 spring bolt flanges then to a dual inlet/dual outlet 70 flowmaster
^^ read up lol.

any opinions on Gibson? I have seen several of those cat back systems on the market and was wondering how they stack up
