4.0 help

Ok heres the deal.. my dad bought a 92 short box . its a 4.0 auto 2wd .. The motor is blown in this truck more coolant in the oil pan then oil. So my dad gets a junkyard motor .. its out of a 93 explorer with 83,xxx miles..
It sits at his place for awhile and he decides he doesn't need or want it so he brought it here to my shop and tells me its mine and i can do what i want with it ...

So heres where i sit.. I almost have the old motor out (the exhaust bolts are being stuborn )
Before I put the new(er) motor in I want to clean it up and make sure its 100% before droping it in ..my question is 1 what problomes do these motors have that i should look into before droping it in and 2. what simple/cheep/ez upgrades can i make to motor..

my plan for this truck since its a 2wd is to lower it around 1inch front and back and clean it up .. ill post pics later.

check the spark plug in the center on the drivers side ( I think it's number 5) for oil if the plug is wet you will need to replace the intake gasket. this is a common problem with the early 4.0 engines. I have a 93 with only 82,000 miles and the new intake gasket fixed the problem.
