blown intake gasket

blown intake gasket
So I found where my coolant went. right into the engine. Before I did anything I checked the oil level. It was quite high.
Drained it and out came about 8 qts of fluid. Luckily it appears that as the coolant went into the engine it was drawn into the PCV and burned off. The upper intake manifold was very wet.
I have a few questions though before I start gathering parts.
1. The crankcase was full of coolant. I'm guessing it was a sudden thing as I only noticed today that the engine was running hot and I had no heat. So best case is I drove it about 10 miles this way, worst case is about up to 50 miles.
Would there be any harm internaly to the engine? I figure I will fill it with oil and after about 100-200 miles drain it again to get rid of any risidual moisture. Should I do anything else oil wise?
2. I'm guessing the block still has coolant in it. Would the water pump still be submerged in coolant? Since I have so much taken apart should I just replace the pump anyway?
3. I've heard the 4.0's tend to have head gasket failures. Is there a average mileage when this happens? Should I just do it now as long as I have it torn down this far.
4. If I do the head gasket do I still need to deck the head even though it hasn't blown yet.
5. Anything else I should change out while I'm in there? I'm contemplating the rocker arms, push rods and lifters I saw mentioned in another thread. Anyone know where I can get a better price than direct from delta camshaft?
I'm also going to put in a new t-stat as long as I'm there.
Keep in mind that time is an issue when answering these questions. Both my Wife and I work part-time jobs along with our full time jobs. Car pooling will not work for more than a few days due to our schedules. If this happened in the summer I could have taken the motorcycle.
Also money is an issue as well. I don't mind spending a few extra $$ now to prevent major $$ later, but I don't have much in reserves right now.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
