Fan Clutch

Fan clutch has gone bad. it making a metallic type noise and has a ton of play. i tried 2 times to get it off and nothing. i took the belt off and put a strap wrench on the water pump and a big adjustable on the bolt and went to town and nothing. whats the trick? i don't have air tools so a air hammer is out of the question.

Go to autozone or pep boys and rent a fan clutch removal tool... like this:

The 57mm will go around the 4 bolts on the water pump... the 32 will go on the fan nut... spin fan left, water pump right.
