ok guys, well, i've tried quite a bit to get my **** box running, thought it was vapor locked, turns out it isnt, but i guess im going to try a new starter, i checked with advance auto pars and they want like $180 for a starter, so does anybody know a cheaper place to get one? I've called around to the junk yards and i find it really hard to believe that none of them have anything for Rangers.

So, what are the ods that the motor siezed? its been sitting for 13 months and the last time i started it was probably around 4 or 5 months ago but i only let it run for about 10 maybe 15 minutes because it didn't have jack for gas in it.

So any help?

Are you sure your starter is bad?

well, i'm pretty sure its bad, last time i drove it, it worked just fine, now with a 910CA Optima Red Top battery fully charged, all it does when i turn the key is make on click. like the solenoid is trying, but just nothing is happening or something.

Take a hammer and tap the starter then see if it will start over

Fuel system could be plugged up. You may have been running on fumes. Also, could be bad gas. Check the shut-off switch under the passenger side carpeting. If the system runs dry or near empty it could cause the vehicle to shut itself down. The vehicle sat for a while -- anything could be possible -- alternator, starter, battery. I've heard of vehicles sitting years and putting a new battery on and it cranks, so the engine is probably OK.

Remove and clean all the cable connections between the battery and starter , also the ground connections. Then check the starter mounting bolts to be sure they're tight.

Also, are you certain the battery is fully charged? 910 CA doesn't mean a lot when it's 0* out, measure your battery voltage with a Digital Multimeter. If it is near 12.3 Volts or even below charge it.
