Yeah, you don't need it. It will result in no change of performance, really. As was mentioned, the Ford ignition has good wires and very hot coils from the factory, strangely enough.
Put the money into something that will get you more use. That's a good start on a programmer or chip and that would be a great thing to save up for.
By the way, everyone notices an improvement from a performance mod, whether it's there or not, lol. Beware and look for dyno proof, track times, etc. posted somewhere whenever possible.
