Straigt Pipe
The exhaust set up I am running now is no muffler, single pipe splitting into dual at the rear. A few people in recent exhaust threads said that if running this set up your gas mileage is going to suffer is that true? I do about half highway and half city. If I get 16mpg I am lucky.
A little info on my truck-
-2002 XLT 4.0 SOHC
-3in BL
-285/75/16 tires
-K&N air filter

Well I just did this modification about a month ago and I think I lost about 1 mpg. Think I'm going to put a muffler on to correct that issue. I myself dumped it before the right rear with my Z28 Camaro tip.

Lord of War, I am now running the same set-up you have. I lost alittle low-end grunt and 1-2 mpg. Plus it's kinda loud at freeway speeds in the cab.
I will be installing a new Magnaflow muffler soon. It looks just like a glass pack, but it's not. I hope it tones it down alittle and I get my mileage back. If not the stock system is going back on!

if you're worried about performance and gas mileage then the stock exhaust is probably best plus its free lol. i dont think there is an exhaust low enough price wise, to what you want out of it. only muffler i can think of that sounds decent and saves gas mileage and good performance is Borla, or Magnaflow, but again those mufflers can be pricey especially the borla.
