Creaking noise when braking... Help!
Hey ya'll,
Just got a new-to-me Ranger. 2004 4.0 Edge 4WD with only 20k miles on it. Love it already (except for the gas mileage, which it seems is a sensitive subject around here).
Anyways, today I noticed a noise that seems to be coming from under the driver's side when I brake. Can't tell if it's from the front or rear. It only happens when I brake with a certain amount of pressure. I would describe the noise as a rythmic creaking/grinding.
Could it be the pads, rotors, or calipers that are causing this? I really don't know where to begin, as I am not the world's greatest mechanic. Any help would be great. Thanks guys.
