no scanguage for me! ever!
i was looking into buying the scanguage for my truck and the website said it wont work and this is what it said:
1998 WORKS ON ALL VEHICLES EXCEPT: Ford Explorer and Ranger - No Speed, Distance or Fuel Economy information (MPH, MPG, Miles driven).
now why would that be? it works on the 99-00 which are about the same right? or is there a way i could get it to work?

there are some anomylies from Ford. Another example is an x3 tuner. it will correct odometer for bigger tires for all obdII rangers except the year 2000.
As far as those three readings, they are fun for a week to play with. I would suspect that the majority settle in with standard gauge readings (water temp, rpm, voltage, etc).
The other one I use is the intake temperature. It gives a decent outdoor temp when the truck is moving on the hiway, but suffers from heat soak when moving slow.

i guess i would have to borrow one to check it. OR buy my dad one for his Chevy, and keep it when he doesn't drive it. I really would like to have one though. none of my friends have even heard of it and it does everything i want it to. im really liking the gas mileage thing too, i been wanting something that reads that since i saw the ohc in my buddies Dakota r/t did that.

You could look into this one it is simular but a little pricey:

To my understanding the fuel milage is calculated in a different way. I am still not sure it will work though.
Any other anomilies in 1998?
