installed borla xl muffler yesterday.

well as most of you know i have had several different exhaust systems. well i now think i have found one that i will be keeing for a long time.

at first i had a Custom magnaflow dual exhaust. good flow and power not bad sound, but i thought i needed more sound, bought a flowmaster swaped it in place of the magnaflow, kept if or 2 months, sounded good but no power.

couple weeks ago i was offered a borla xl muffler from Mark (01xltranger4x4) for free if i helped him install his OHC in his truck.

Yesterday i finally got it put on.

SI/SO 2.25 the whole way. the pipe is pretty much straight back and is dumped just infront of the hitch.

i know most people arent really for that the like the big nice tips and all that, its nice to have those but for the money it really isnt worth it.

I love it, its very quiet, alot of flow and good power from it. the engine runs so smooth now i dont think i ever remember it running this smooth. i also noticed i have never been able to churp my tires since i got 32s, plus thos revos grip good well now i can from a dead stop. idk must have gain some power.
my truck now shifts about 6grand which it used to do with the magnaflow

Sorry no pics but there really isnt anything to take pics of.

not the xl, the xl is quiet unless you got a big engine.

now the borla pro xs is louder, i like the sound of it and i would say yes it is louder than magnaflow. one thing that is a big factor in sound is the size of your muffler and the size of your tips.

mine is very quiet because it has no tip, nd the muffler is really long.

I actually dont remember what my exhaust was. That guy just tried putting words in my mouth as to what it was when he had all the mufflers confused. The time i got it, i didnt have an ebay account, so i had gary get for me, and paid him back, or else i would just look at the auction.

I loved the way mine sounded, a clip i heard awhile back just didnt sound the same.

the only reason i am saying it must have been a pro xs is i have heard one in person and it resimbles yours. i could still be wrong tho.

I have the Borla Pro-Xs now after Zach came and stole my XL!!! (just kidding lol).......The only reason Pro-Xs louder than the Turbo XL is because its a Center/Offset, which is only like 14" long VS. The turbo XL which is like 19" long......Borla is the best muffler you can get as far as if you want some sound/good performance AND loud sound/good performance....... Right click save as....Link is in my SIG.

Plus after i got my tires.....My truck slowed down......BUT now that i have my K-N drop-In and Borla, im about back to stock again.....its a good performance getter. :-)
