My Ranger is dead :(

My Ranger has problems :( It's been slowly getting worse. now it won't start. It'll usually start okay when cold. After running for a few minutes then turning off. Wait a couple minutes and it won't start. I just ran my battery down trying to start it. It's charging at the moment. My initial thought was that it's the IAC valve. I tried leaving the key on long enough for the fuel pump to charge the lines but it makes no difference. My obdII scanner won't communicate with the vehicle anymore for some reason but it communicates fine with my 07 focus. I'm also leaning towards the cam sensor (hoping not because that's a pain.

I dont think the IAC will prevent the truck from starting. Are all your fuses good? Is it getting fuel?

Just went out and started it. Yes, fuses are all good. It started off as a first crank no start, second crank first turn it would start. Now it's become a decent cold start but after running a few then letting it sit for a couple minutes, it will almost fail to start again after 3 or four good cranking sessions. If I wait about 30 minutes it will start fine again. It's at the point where I don't trust it enough to take it anywhere. I like a vehicle to start on the first crank while reaching through the window, which is what this truck used to do. If I could get it to communicate with the OBDII like it used to then I should be able to find any error codes.

What are the odds that a battery is good enough to crank a vehicle well, but not enough for the electronics. I gave the battery a good charge and the truck seems to be just fine. Confused :/

possible. it has to crank at so many rpms before it will start.
