new exhaust setup

well i was getting tired of running muffler-less

so today i had a nice custom setup done

straight through magnaflow muff run to the side of the truck. almost.
its really quiet right now, i hope it gets louder as it breaks in...

its also all tucked above the cross members since i have a body lift. theres a ton of room up there. so my exhaust is way out of the way now

pics later!

nice choice on the magnaflow. Its gonna sound quite since you were runing without a muffler for a while. It does get slightly louder after a couple hundred miles. i think its the perfect sound for our 4.0

yeah i think so, its quiet around town, but when i really get on it, i can hear it. and it has a nice quiet rumble to it down low. and it doesnt sound ricey at all. i think it'll get louder..
it is a straight through muffler after all..

Its going to stay real quite. Just alittle louder about stock in my opinion.

Did you notice any difference in power, throttle responce, etc...

I am running straight piped and am just curious.

Magnaflow is A LOT louder than stock! Its not as annoyingly droning as a flowmaster at highway speeds, but definately not a stock sound at all.

I had my friend drive my truck around the block the other day, and i could hear it the whole way.

and yes, wow, the truck feels much quicker, even at this high elevation here in reno. i cant wait to feel it back in vegas

i never really noticed it much after the tune, but the guy that did the exhaust was amazed at my ranger. he had a stock 04 fx4 back in the day, and said mine, even with 33's was noticeable more powerful then his was

not sure what im going to do with the pipe yet
maybe run it to the side, but that'll be tricky with the slider, or cut it back to the muffler and put on a turndown. either way, i love it!

I didn't think the tune on my 4.0L sport trac did much, until I tried returning it to stock one day. What a dog!

Glad they tucked the muffler up there good. When I had a flowmaster 40 series on my ranger, that thing was HUGE!

really, i thought my old flowmaster 40 was really small, compared to the monstrous stock muffler! lol
