Icon10 V8 or MODED V6

Hey guys. So i am heading back over seas soon and when i come back i am going to have a crap load of cash. So i am planning on doing one of 2 things.

1. Dropping in a V8 and running it stock.......ish. I still want driveabilty seeing as i am still going to use it for a daily driver. I might do, the following:

Headers
Heads
Cold Air intake.
Full Exhaust
Tuner

OR

2. Get a second 4.0L from the scrap yard and mod the crap out of it as follows:

Heads
Headers
Port and Polish
Tuner
Screaming Demon Coil Pack
Full Exhaust
Bigger Injectors
Bore it out ( not sure to what. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated)
Super Charger.....Maybe

So this is what i am thinking. Once again it is just a idea kicking around for now till I come back. Like I said I would Like as much input as possible. As well what are the pros and cons of doing eather one.

Thanks
Chris

You can make that 4.0 sound like a bumble bee! Then ya just gotta paint the truck yellow.

If it were me I'd do a 5.0 swap. Parts are way easier to get and will prolly be a hole lot cheaper.

Ya right. I don't want to be doing burn outs all over the place. It would be cool but to expensive.

460's were a torquey motor but never really had the power. There way better options for a big block than that.

I mean, I got a 460 in my grandpa's 76 F350 and that thing is a beast. Pull trees out all day with it. Pass fire trucks on the interstate with it with their lights and siren going.

most fire truck are governed at like 55 mph. (I believe) But regardless a chevette or geo metro could pass a fire truck on the interstate with their lights and sirens going.

Shouldn't you yield to emergency vehicals not be passing them?

I'm not saying the motor does not have ***** just say there are much better options out the for a big block.

If I was going to spend the money and go through all the work I would drop a V8 under the hood, either a 302 or a 355.

Would a 355 fit. I have read that you can barely fit a 4.6 in there. or is a 355 a bored and stroked out 302

5.0... Parts are much much cheaper and a lot easier to find. Plus you can make that thing scream and still be emissions compatible, if you have to go through that hell.

A 355 is a chevy motor and that =s NO. You could drop in a 347, which is a bored and stroked 302. I have one in my Mustang and they are BAD!!! The absolute best Mod I have done to the car by far. However, that may require the computer to be retuned. If you stick with a 302, I would do better heads, Torque Monster Headers, Aftermarket intake such as Holley, BBK, or Edelbrock. Also, you could run a little bigger cam, but I wouldn't go too big because, again, the computer will require tuning, and you also don't want to loose your low end torque.

A 350 is chevy motor yes but I always liked chevy's power plants better anyway.
