Warm starting issue
I have a 97 ford ranger with a 4.0 engine, for a while now i've been having a starting problem
When i've been driving a while and I shut it off say more than 10 minutes or so and I go back to start it I have to crank it over quite a while to get it to start, kinda like the old cabourated engine, however it does always start and runs fine once started. When it is started cold it starts and runs fine.
can anyone help?
thanks

it sounds like a fuel pump problem...my old car did exactly what your describing when it was cold it started just fine but after it sat for a while it would crank and crank and crank. my old car was a 95 ford escort so not much older than your ranger. your fuel pump might be getting ready to go out...try cycling the ignition a couple times before you start it that might make it start a little easier
