Yea theres your problem. Not really a problem. Mine does it as well. Just takes longer for Full Synthetic Oils to warm up inside the engine block. Nothing to worry about bud

I see you are running a K&N.... Did you recently service the filter?? If so I would definately clean the MAF sensor.... I had this issue on the 99 F150 I had... Caused the same issue...

I've had this same problem on my '02. It only runs rough on cold start-up when the outside temperature is below about 50 degrees. I've had it to the dealer several times, been on the phone with Dearborn, and no success.

FauX, I'm running 5w30 synthetic blend. Do you mean to say that Fletch's problem has to do with the oil?

I thought about MAF, IAC, and the TPS. The dealer says they're all within range, but I know there can still be a problem. I hate to throw parts at the truck until I find a fix.

Fletch, you had any luck in finding the problem?

Im going to try a thinner oil first. 5w-30. thats what my best friends dad said. I have 10w-30 now and he said the thicker the oil the harder it is to warm up as quick as thinner. so ill try it this weekend and see what happens. ill let ya know

I hope it works! I'm running 5w30 synthetic blend and still get the rough idle on cold start. I think the idle problem lies outside of the oil pan... Let us know what you find out.
