4.0 OHV cam position sensor help!

hey guys got code P0340 on my truck, been idling kinda funny, loss of power and truck is shakey. anyhow im replacing just sensor for now. do i need to get alignment thing or just unscrew and pop in?

also where is it at? i cant seem to find it 4 the life of me.

it is on the rear of the motor, and you dont have to align it...just unbolt and bolt the new one on. read my 3.0 how-to on it, it is real similar to the 4.0

i read somewhere i have to take the intake manifold off true, not true?

the upper intake has to be removed. my write up should be in the how-to section. it is on the rear of the motor just to the passenger side of the center line

isnt it different on a 4.0 vs, a 3.0?

i read through the how to, doesnt help much cuz my problem is i cant find the sensor.

thanks for pic. i knew it had to be aroudn somewhere, think im just gonna havet to take a mirror and use it to look around in the back. see if i can do without taking intake off.

im having trouble getting intake manifold off cant get metal tube disconnected any ideas?

are you talking about the one that connected to the the driver side that's kinda on the bottom lol

Justin and I did mine you have to take the intake off to even find the damn thing and then the lower intake can still be a pain in the butt to where its located.

just order some upper intake gaskets and do it up. didnt take me but what 15-25 min to pull the intake maybe

yes talking one thats on driver side it like connects to egr valve and exhaust manifold.

yeah it was a pain. had to take upper intake off. mine was a pain.
