Where is my starter??

4.0 V6 Ranger. If you see earlier posts, I think my fuel pump is bad. Went to Auto Zone today for the new one and when I got home I decided to give her one more crank. Now it sounds like my starter is bad.

Could I have cranked it too much trying to decide what was wrong? I didn't think I did it that much! Anyway, can someone tell me where the starter is on my 4.0 V6.

Along with any other advice would be awesome!! Thanks, Mike

Could it have been possible to burn it up trying to get my truck started for the last few days. To be honest with you, I haven't tried to crank it that much?? Could any amount of cranking, ruin a starter? It is original from 2001 (only 40K miles though). Thanks for your help

Wow Steve, I've gotten the two bolts off, but the starter is so jammed in there, I can't reach or even see the electrical connection. (from top or bottom) Keep working at it, I guess
