Does anyone know of a good place to buy a used engine for my truck ? Aparantely the right side of the engine has a timing issue which possibly might have been caused by a chain tensioner or a broken guide. I have not yet opened the engine but everyone suggested that I just put in a used motor because at the end the parts and labour will work out the same and my truck has over 300 k , thats kilometeres, Any suggestions ?

 

you could pm people that are in the middle of a 5.0 swap. call local JY's and see if any have one for sale.
what year is your truck? that is a lot of kms.

 

LKQ offers engines with 6 month warranty. I've purchased a tranny from them with no problems and plan on getting a 4.0 ohv engine from them as well.

It is a 2003 , FX4 , I was wondring if the Mustangs use the same 4 Litre motor ? I am in Ontario, Canada and I am trying to find a local Junk Yard or someone within reasonable distance.

 

i dunno if the stang would would work. the cam is different then ours. when did the mustangs get the 4.0L again? it was what 06 or 07?

I got an engine for my ranger from japanese imports and it ran great. They are not a salvage yard and they test every engine before they send it to you. I would call them for a good engine and not get one from a salvage yard but get one that you know is good. you can call them using 1-855-423-6446
