so is it really worth it is my question. I have always thought of doing this even back when I had my 95 2.3 but just never did. I think its all about just fining the right deals on parts and not getting in a hurry. Then you can come out pretty cheap.

Can you do the swap and keep the A/C in the newer rangers, like say an '08??

I have almost the exact set up your looking into on my truck. Same Gen ranger with a 93 mustang HO and a T5. Good luck with the T5, I would suggest hydraulic bellhousing, the cable is one major PITA. The cost completely depends on how much you can get the motor and trans for, other major costs that you can't really avoid is headers, dual sump oil pan, radiator, and motor mounts. Good luck with long tube headers though, i've never really seen those pan out for any reasonable price. When I had my truck with an AOD and a 3.73, I hit 20 mpg on a couple tanks of gas as well, not bad for a 5.0. Good luck with the swap, feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Hell that aint bad at all. most guys do that with the slow tie dimers around here but take about 4 to 6 days doing it and spend alot more. where did you get your engine and parts at? I was going to swap out a 5.0 in my 97 but just never got around to it. and after getting use to V8's and diesels over the last decade the V6 feels a little slow to me. How's the fuel mileage after the swap?

Salvage yard time L.O.L...

I think I'll go to my local salvage yard and see what they have to say. They may be cheaper than Oreily's. I have looked at carb technology for the past month and found it to be alot more affordable, and can be economical too. no need to go crazy about the cfms on a carb. a standard 2 barrel would be enough for me.
