how about this?
ford 302 fuel injection
Found this on craigslist...Would this be easy to swap into my 95 2wd (currently 4.0)
If not...what would be the easiest/cheapest swap?
The old lady is talking about buying me a 240sx...but id rather just have a v8 in my truck...since my trans is crap anyways....If this is the route I take, probably going to take it somewhere to get it done since its my only vehicle and I dont have time (alt transportation) to make mistakes.

The craigslist post has been deleted. Your 1995 2wd truck can fit a mustang, lincoln, or explorer 302 fairly easily. I would be looking for an HO roller motor to start with. If your looking to have someone else do the swap its going to cost some major coin. I'm not sure how mechanically inclined you are but the swap is doable in a short period of time if you do your research and lots of work before you actually do the motor swap. Good Luck.

Also, can I take the engine from a 4wd explorer and use a transmission for a 2wd? Or do I have to find a 2wd 302 explorer?
So yeah, it looks like the ol lady is gonna buy me a 240sx or crown vic...She said she would rather me have a DD so I dont have to worry about getting everything put back together before work everytime I wanna work on the ranger.

The 'best' Explorer V8 match for a 95 Ranger would be a 96~97 because those years have the combination of a compatible fuel system and no PATS. Not plug and play but very good.
A 98 Ex engine/PCM in a 95 Ranger would need extra work for the PATS.
A 99~2001 Ex engine/PCM could be used but would need mods for the returnless fuel system and PATS.
It is possible to use a 2WD 4R70W Explorer transmission with the engine from an AWD 5.0 but be sure to look for a matching trans year to maintain compatibilty with the engine/PCM year. The 4R70W was going through an evoluton during this period and the computer controls vary somewhat.
97 and earlier Rangers like yours have decent aftermarket support for bolt-in V8 headers and motor mounts
Keep shopping around. It took a while but I found a good Ex 5.0 for $314 and an automatic for $99, both on eBay. Also, remember that the rest of the stuff needed for the swap will usually add up to more (maybe a lot more) than the cost of the major assemblies. Plan a generous budget for time and money ... then double both.

Yes a T5 with a 5.0 pattern bellhousing will bolt up. The Ranger uses a hydraulic clutch and a Mustang 5.0 T5 uses a cable, so you would need to make adjustments at one end or the other. The shifter position of a stock Mustang T5 is a lot farther back than a stock Ranger but that is fixable too.

Cool, thanks...think ive finally decided on what to go with...now lets hope I can find it for cheap...
only one more question...should I try to get a whole explorer for the fan/radiator/and other accessories or can I use my 4.0 stuff and just swap the engine/trans/ECU (or PCM whatever the computer is called) and it will help me know how stuff is suposed to go together....or is it easy to figure out?
Ill probably try to buy a new wire harness (if I can afford it) because Ive seen a few houses go up because their car had faulty old wiring and caught fire in the garage.
