5.oooooo yeah build

Haven't done a whole lot to it yet.

But I have an 1986 Bronco II with a 2.9L v6, 5-speed manual, and BW1350 xfer-case.

Going to an 1987 Bronco 5.0, C4 transmission, and BW1356 xfer-case.

Woooohooooo... no replies. the love rolls deep here. haha

Soooo... if you're going to get an engine... make sure it comes with the complete wiring harness. Not one where someone cut all the connectors off.

I'm still missing about 10 labels. I can't figure them out on the wiring diagram.

Saw were one of the valve covers is rusted all to hell. So I'm going to see if I can salvage it. The air intake is pretty fudged up too. Will see if I can repaint it.

AOD is a 4 speed auto trans. C4 is a 3 speed non overdrive trans. C4 can be built stronger, cheaper. but AOD can put up with some abuse fine, and the OD can allow for some wicked gear without killing freeway cruiseability.

I dont know how to tell them apart other than C4s use a vacuum modulator and AODs use a TV cable as the obvious giveaway.

Well, I can tell because I am a mechanic and I know the differences just by GLANCING at the case. How I knew it was different so easily is because of the trans lines, the AOD/AODE/4R70W lines are located together towards the front of the case, where as the C4 has on towards the front, and one towards the back. Also, the C4 has a square shaped pan, while the AOD family has a rectangular pan with angled corners at the back.

Well... sold the Bronco. Too many electrical issues from previous owner. (old roommate that cut the top off let the wiring get wet. )

New toy though. 1984 Honda Shadow 500c. 17k miles.

Sell just the Bronco? Or did you get rid of the 5.0 as well?

$500 bucks. It runs, but it's running really rich. So mossyoak03 and i took apart the carburetor and found where someone broke the choke cable and replaced it with a pop rivet. Not the best way to fix it.

Still have the 5.0/tranny, oil pan, headers, and BW1356 xfer case.
