97 ranger v8 conversion issues....

I am working on a 97 ranger for a friend of mine who wanted it converted to a carbureted 302 with a WC T5 trans. Here is a rundown on what I did sofar, and the issues I now have currently.....

When he brought it to me, he already pulled the 2.3 out and left under hood wiring hanging, not marked anywhere. I unbolted it at the bulkheads and pulled out of the way. I set the engine and trans in , using Advance adaptor plates and mounts. I ran the exhaust and started on figuring out the wiring for the swap. The only things I need power for is the electric fan, coil and electric fuel pump. I looked at a schematic and found a " power in run and start" path, and thought I could use those.so, I am using the light blue/orange wires from the previous O2 sensors to power the electric fan switch. I am using the tan/black wires from the distribution box to power the +side of the coil, and using the pink/black wire for the fuel pump( I tied the dark green/yellow wire to the pink and black wire at the inertia switch, so I could get power down farther down the path for the fuel pump.)

I tried to crank it last night , but the key did nothing. I then pushed in the clutch, with same results. I then pulled the connector at the clutch safety switch and tied the red/blue and the pink wires together( to see if the switch may have been bad). Still , no start. I then used a jumper button switch to jump the starter at the solenoid, and it spun( but did not kick out to engage the flexplate), so I know the starter is working. ( I will address the engaging later). I was told there is a starter interrupt relay that I need to disable, and jump across terminals 1-3 to get it to start. I pulled the driver side shinplate down to locate this, but it is not there. I pulled the center area( where the radio mounts into) and it is not there. I am at a total loss to where it is located, and even if I got good solid advice to do this in order to make this truck run.

The truck is a 97 ranger, ( 01/97) with no power windows, or door locks. Is 2 wheel drive.

Am I using the correct wire combo in order to source the power I require to run these few circuits? What do you all recommend in order to get this project done and back to its owner? I need some help on this everyone. Thanks for the help .
