98 ranger 5.0 swap

Well guys this has been a goal of mine for a long time and I finally get to move forward with it. Saturday I drove 8.5 hours to pick up an 01 explorer motor. Got it unloaded onto my stand and we started disassembling it. Rundown of motor plan is leave bottem end stock for now port polish heads, roller rockers, pretty good size cam, 30lb injectors and of course some shiney to go on top of all the goodies.

no not free but way cheaper with price of it and fuel to drive my f150 to get it than what they want for them around here.

same with mine, makes it easier. As of right now mine needs a transmission and its almost as cheap to get a trans as it is to get a rotted out V8 explorer and have some fun

Your explorer computer will be looking for the automatic trans, with a 5 speed, it wont be there. This causes an issue... my truck was a 5 speed before as well.
