460 Big block

I've got a 97' 2wd ranger with a 2.3L. How hard is it to mount a 460cid. to the frame? EX: is the frame wide enough. I know it won't support it . i'm planning on building a frame but i need to know what kind of measurements i need to change.

Are they expensive? How hard was it to find a manifold that you could modify and make work? What manifold did you use?

The bungs were pretty cheap. My manifold is an Edelbrock Victor.

TFS now sells an intake with bungs pre-cast into it, so all you have to do is have them drilled.

Big blocks in Rangers are doable. Just make sure you know how to weld. Be prepared to do some trans tunnel surgery too. The work is worth it in my mind just to have that kind of torque.

No welding (except for headers) and no tunnel surgery required. At least not on my 2wd.
