The New 5.0 Coyote V8 and Pics...
I forget which member told me to google it but my curiosity was peaked and decided to do just that. My reaction to some of the info availible was allright! 400 Horsepower, 400 Lbs or torque strait up motor. It's a Modular D.O.H.C 4V engine. Brand new block. here are some links to what I found that includes pics and specs: Ford’s 5.0L ‘coyote’ V8 [Spied again] and the specs are at (BlueOvalNews) Ford Forums, Ford News, Ford Motor Company News, Ford Employee Forum, Ford Reviews, Ford Edge Forum, Ford Flex Forum, Ford Fusion Forum, Ford Sales Figures, Ford Eco Boost Forum, Ford Transit Forum, Ford Transit Connect Forum, Lincoln . one of the links mentioned the fact that the 2010 Mustangs out handle the new Camaro because it's lighter and there's even mentioning of a TWIN TURBOED version as well. That is what I call evil and just out and outright nasty.

I know man, a newer version of an old legend. That's kool. There's more on what they're getting rid of too. They're keeping the Supercharged 5.4 4V (current 2010 mustang engine) but phasing out the rest of them the 2V romeo block is already gone and the crate version with it. If you google it and you'll find some better pics on the other websites listed.

Not quite but your close though. You forgot about the F150 Raptor and there's 2 types of the GT 500. You have the SVT version that Ford done then you have Carrol Shelby's GT500 Supersnake with a meaner blower by Paxton Superchargers pumping out 800 horses. Shelby's version starts at around $125,000 bucks. Ford's version is around $50,000 give or take. I wish I could own both versions but that's wishfull thinking.

Then why does GM have it listed as a big block? but then again we were talking about GM though too. Probably a different version I'm thinking about too. After all they have the most crate engines availible too. I'll look it up later you might be right about that.

Yeah but it is still not a big block. Not even the 7.0 in the new Z06 is a big block engine.
The Generation III Small Block Chevy V-8 engines replaced the LT family in 1997. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_LS_engine
I am glad that Ford is stepping up though. Finally! I wonder if this engine will have tensioner or spark plug problems. Lets hope they did their homework.

Are you sure about that? I was told in another thread that one shelby did was different a bit versus the one ford did. I might be off about the raptor but I think it might have a supercharger upgrade. That might be it not really sure.

Positive. Shelby makes 2 versions, the GT500 and the GT500 Super Snake. Both are super charged but the GT500 is pushing 500 horses while the Super Snake is closer to 725. There is no super charger upgrade from Ford for the Raptor yet either

I got my info from GMPP and a book called "how to swap a GM LS engine into almost anything". here's the crates you have availble: LS1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9 and LSX. you also have 305(a bad copy of Ford's 302), 327, 350, 383 (350 stroked to 383), 427, 454, 572, 588, 632.

Twin turbo 5.0 would be nice. I wonder if they are going with direct injection with the 5.0.
#24
Oh ok. So they may be in the process of developing a supercharger for the raptor. Tell what do you think of the New 5.0 Coyote engine and the new Twin turboed Sho engine?

305 is NOTHING like a 302 ford. Sorry...it's still a SBC gen1 based engine...you must be forgetting about the 302 z/28 huh? For Trans-Am racing?
Apples to oranges..
