Big Block Ranger...

I was browsing around another site and found something that was kool. So I checked it out and behold. For those of you wondering a big block has indeed been put into a ranger. I aint talking about a diesel either. here's the link: www.BigBlockRanger.com . If you browse through the site you'll find a link to the dude's car domain and you'll be able to hear it running. It sounds nasty.

That guy is mainly over on RPS. Been following his build for a couple years now. It's pretty sweet to see that 460 in there.

thats sweet, my dad put a 540 big block in an old cj 5, he put some boggers on it and used to race it at the beach, it blew all the competition away, the engine had so much power that we had to drive home with the front drive shaft every night because it snapped the rear one all the time

That truck has to be pretty stupid fast. Would be fun though. BTW there have been a couple of other guys with 460's in their rangers. There was a guy on here by the name of SuperSplash that had a lifted regular cab on 40+ tires with a 460. He used to do burn out contests all the time with it.

Did his truck happen to be Canary yellow by any chance? There was a guy from florida I saw at a show in tennesee I went to a couple of years ago. He had put the 460 in his truck then he went to a 514 supercharged monster. The damn blower was taller than the roof of the cab and it was jacked way the hell up there, had to be at least a 6 inch lift. Too bad my digital camera's battery went dead or I would have posted the pic on here along time ago. That sucks the damn battery went dead. You don't see things like that too often.

Yeah it is pretty sweet. You don't see too many Gasoline Bigblocks go into rangers. pretty much everyone mentions a diesel like the 5.9 Cummins or something to that effect. I'd like to see a Catepillar C18 go into a ranger with a super 10 tranny and rockwell rear gears and suspension. That would be something to see. An 18 wheeler engine in a Ford ranger, now that would be sick beyond reasoning.

Hell I'd say. The damn thing would probably do wheelies very easily if tuned correctly.

Theres a few guys out where I'm at running big blocks in their "rangers" but once you build your own boxed / 4 link frame and throw an empty shell back on it, I don't think its really a ranger anymore. I will look for some of the photos I have laying around...

well now if u consider the pre 8 fullsize trucks were mostly ranger models. . . and when done right u can really end up with alot more still ranger then u might be thinking.... I mean its a trail rig, so sures the dom all threw out and a comepletly home built frame, but the cab 75% of the interior, the bed everything that makes it look like a ranger is stilll there. . . and then your kinda throwin in the old full size ranger into the mix alittle and usually end up with a 1ton 460 powered ford ranger. built right they can be done decently on a budget and perform damn well!!!!
