1998 V8 ranger build

Hey everyone,

I have been wanting to put a V8 in my 1998 single cab 2x4 ranger for some time now. I plan on buying a older mustang prob earley 90s to late 90s and puting pretty much any thing that will fit from it into my ranger.

My question is even with having an entire mustang at my finger tips for this build are there any extras i would need to purchase to do this build. I know i will need motor mounts most likley, and have to get the drive shaft shortened and stuff like that, but what else.....

80s tbirds are suppose to be good too. They have manifolds that clear perfectly, and they can be found for alot cheaper then a mustang or explorer. Money saved could buy all the stuff you need. I have an engine from a 80 fairmont that has a dual sump oil pan that should clear the cross member, but havn't installed it yet to see. Also for engine mounts check out L and L they have the best ones, but they are seldom mentioned.

If you bought a 1999 explorer/mountaineer, you would have absolutely everything you need at your fingertips. minus oil and trans fluid. Checkout the therangerstation.com's tech library. Tons of info on this swap.

some states wont let you put in a motor that is older than the vehicle. Check your local laws. I know here in MA I'm stuck putting 99 or newer motor in mine. I wish i had a 98, No PATS b/s
