Ford's new 5.0

I got bored so I decided to make a tribute thread to Ford's all new 5.0l engine which will be making its debute in the 2011 Mustang. It is rated at 412hp in comparison to the 4.6's 315hp. It uses the same block but modified for much better air flow and has a new goody called Ti-VCT which stands for "twin independent variable camshaft timing". In other words every aspect of this engine is "SICK". If any body has anything else they know about this engine or the new mustang please post.

I'd love to have one of the new GT Mustangs. And, I might just end up with one once the rebates start rolling in.

Did you guys hear that the new 2011 GT500 gets an ALL ALUMINUM 5.4. That sheds over 100lbs. off the front end. Puts the weight distribution from 57% front to 54%. In other words it turns and stops as good as it goes now. Oh it also makes 550hp instead of 540.

Does the new mustangs have independent rear suspension or is it still a solid axle? I can't remember if they are still solid or not. I watched a review on some of the slightly older ones and they kept saying how the solid rear was holding the handling back

cool story, weight balance and hp mean nothing if you dont have the suspension to put it down, just like the last shelby that was gonna be o so amazing.

Variable cam timing is nothing special. I was tuning this for Mitsubishi before Ford had this 5.0. I had to learn how to adjust cam timing to give decent vacuum numbers with monstrous cam durations so I could get things to idle right.

Maybe this would be a better 5.0 for the famous 5.0 swap LOL
