09 speaker question

alright so a buddy of mine just got an 09 XL supercab and apparently there aren't speakers in the back and there are no wires for speakers, just the empty box.

is this right? haha i don't know but it seems like there should be speakers there regardless of the model

Only XLs didn't come with rear speakers. Some did, some didn't. All the XL work trucks don't have rear speakers, at least the ones I've seen

I don't have any in my rear on my '09 XL, I want to add speakers for the back, and have looked to see if there was any wires or not.. I have the basic FM/AM Radio in my truck, and chances are there are no hook up for the rear?

If not, does anyone have a factory style radio for sale?

This is just another fine example of ford cutting corners to maximize profit while keeping prices low. Back in the day, with the gen 2 trucks, a lot of things that are "options" now days were standard back then. I mean, you could get the stripped down work trucks, but even they had 4 speakers! lol.

Ford hasn't been putting rear speakers in XL for a while, its nothing new. None of the part trucks at autozone have them and they are 03-09
