3 15" subs in my ranger
#51
I was watching a few guys line up to get metered at a local show, met a guy who had a mid 90s s10 ext cab, he had 3 9500 12's with a nasty aeroport, put down 149 on music. Now, I've never personally dealt with MTX other than the old Road Thunder 10's I had but to see those 12's put down those numbers I was impressed.
Would I buy MTX, no, but what I've seen them do I've been somewhat impressed. My next build Is going to be Obsidian or DC, haven't made up my mind yet.
Its all in the box, I've seen huge numbers put down on pyle blue waves.

rangerboy, it might also be your subs. i know many people LOVE the SA line. i enjoyed my SA-10's when i has them. i had them in a box at 29hz. did a direct swap to skars, a more low end driver compared to the SA line. MUCH louder on the lower notes. SA's kill anything above 38hz then they loose output no matter the box , unless in a tapped horn, and the skars loose output in the upper range compared to the SA's. im a low low guy though :)

the reason behind going for the 4 12s is..... they will push more air then the 3 15s.... with alot less power.... the 3 15s would push a totall area of 141.37 inches.... the 4 12s will be push a totall area of 150.79 inches... that makes a BIG difference.
...
PROBLEM!!!!!!
One 12" sub has a surface area of 113sq/in. 4 of them would have 452sq/in of surface area.
One 15" sub has 176sq/in of surface area. 3 of them would have 529sq/in of suface area.
The 15's would move more air, assuming both had the same xmax.

As it would seem. I hate to point it out, unless your sole point was to move the most air you could, but you're a bit wrong in your math.

hey guys its been awhile since ive been on here so.... just so everyone knows i got into crash and my truck is on the verge of being totaled..... i drove the truck home from the reck and the ranger held up it was a 3 car collision i was the middle guy and the truck drove home just fine almost as if it never happened.... the other to vehicles were totaled on the spot. the reason i say verge is because the insurance says the truck anit worth being fixed..... in-other-words the cost to fix my truck is more than 80% of the value of my truck.... so the plans of the 4 12s has been paused.... i have the box plans made..... it sits no taller than the bottom of the back window and is 4ft wide.... just need to pay the tickets and the amps.... im buying 2 kenwood KAC-9105D to power all 4
