Amp wires?

I have never been an audio guy but the previous owner of my project truck m ust have been. Anyway there is 2 rca plugs with a single speaker type wire taped to it and a short piece of dual strand speaker wire. Is this for an amp or sub?

The RCA and the single strand is for the amp. The single strand was more than likely used as the remote turn on or whatever they call it...

Thanks, It also has aftermarket speakers in all 4 doors and tweeters in the front doors with an aftermarket head unit.

nice hood. hahahah

the rca should be connected to the HU. the single wire is a remote turn on. and the 2 loose wires go from the amp to the sub. the only thing your missing is a thick wire thats carries a 12 volt connection, from the battery to the amp.

That red hood makes it go faster :) So to hook it up as it was I would need an amp, sub and power cable. I guess my next question would be can I just disconnect this stuff behind the head unit and use it as a regular stereo?

yeah, sure you can. do you have an aftermarket HU? if so, its just simple unplugging. if not, its going to be a ***** to do, and i would recommend just leaving it, and tucking in the wires somewhere.
