So...Did I get a good deal??

The other day my friend call me and told me he would sell me his 12in kicker in the box, a 300w kicker amp, and a bass *** for $100. I couldn't pass it up. So now that i had a sub and an amp, I HAD to get rid of my stock speakers...so i found this deal on eBay for $160:

(2) Pairs Rockford Fosgate R1693 6x9” 480 Watt Car Speakers
(1) New R150-2 150 watt 2 channel car amplifier
(1) DB Link XK8B1 8 gauge complete wire kit

All brand new :)

Now, this is the first full system I have ever purchased so I'm new to this, and I have a lot of learning to do because it seems to me like this whole car stereo thing is almost a science.

Here are the pictures of everything:

Don't forget that you're going to have to cut out the speaker holes to put 6x9s in. It's not hard, but you'll need a dremel or a grinder with a cut off wheel. As for the amps, plan out where you want them, and make sure you have a solid mounting surface, then run all the wires carefully.

Also, if it were me, considering how much of the interior you'll be pulling apart to do this, I'd invest in some Dynamat and do that at the same time.

Good luck with it, and post pics of the install & completed project!

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention that I got the kit off eBay for $160.

Yeah, Im not to worried about the cutting, it will be worth it. And I will be using a lot of wire that was left over from my buddies project who's helping me with the install.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I'm going to have to have to sell two of the speakers and buy 6x8 because i don't think they will fit in the back of the truck even with the cutting. I have a 2 door extended cab.

Not sure on the rear. I don't see what it wouldn't work, though. That's a killer deal for two pairs, an amp, and an install kit. Nice score.

So i figured out what im going to do with the rear speakers. im going to have to take the entire panel off and cut away like i would on the front. but im going to have to screw it to the metal instead of on the screen like i would with the 6x8.

heres a picture so you can see what i mean:

With that amp you got from Ebay, you're gonna have no balance control between left and right. It's a 2 channel. That may not matter to you though.

It would definitely matter if I had a four channel amp. But since it's only two it doesn't. I'll just have to work with it for now haha. It's definitely going to be better then stock speakers for sure. I'm just trying to figure out what im going to do with the back speakers.
