XM radio antenna

I just got a XM radio for my b-day and was wondering how my reception would be with the antenna on the dash for now until it gets warmer and I can install it on the roof.

not that great... run it out of the 3rd brake light and stick it on the roof... that is the quickest and easiest way to do it

My thoughts exactly. Even with that setup which is where my sirius antenna is I currently still have signal issues in wooded areas with tall treas and always loose it for a few seconds when I go under over passes.

That is where I'm going to mount it when it gets warmer out it is still to cold here to do anything outside. I just need something temporary until it gets warmer.

Thanks Quest

I will try it I guess and if it doesn't work I will move it when it gets warmer.

That is normal to lose signal, its only a satellite. I lose signal in the same places. You will get decent reception on the dash, that is where my fathers antenna is currently with his starmate.

warmer? Why does it have to be warm? Just get your mits and hat on and put er on.

My sirius attenna is only a magnet that sticks on. I ran it through the third brake light and plopped the magnet on top. Does XM use something else?

nope. XM uses the same thing. Putting it on the dash is a good temp spot but when it get warmer I would mount on the roof and run it through the 3rd brake light.

If yall are havin problems with your xm radio goin in and out in the same places you need to buy a FM modulater at best buy for $30. Mine was doing the same thing and my girlfriends dad told me to buy one so I did and there is no more static at all!
