Radio...off?

Hey there. Wondering if i have a default radio. I just brought home a 1995 Ranger. I'm having trouble turning the radio off. Just wondering if im not doing something right or if the radio is faulty. I push power in, it will power off, then once i let go of the button it will come back on. There must be another way and i'm just missing it. Also, will that drain the battery if stays on? Me and mom were play'n with it and thought we had left something on, because the battery was dead 2 days later. The truck sat, because i was waiting on insurance to take affect.

So its not shutting off with the truck? If not then you need to wire it to the ignition so it will, is it the factory radio or aftermarket? If aftermarket if possible just pop the face plate off.

It's a factory radio and it will shut off when i turn the vehicle off. I just can't turn it off as i'm driving or no longer want to listen to it.

Well if it shuts off when the vehicle is off then it shouldn't drain the battery.

Alright. I made sure everything was off when i got home.

I'll probably take it to Ford this weekend and see if it's an easy fix. Thanks for your input.

I wouldnt go to ford, they will charge you your first born just to look at it! Try and trace the problem your self it will save you money and its always nice to learn, im going to guess that its a problem with the power button its self, could probally replace with a factory headunit pretty cheaply.

Funny you say that, because this truck comes with a 6 disc cd changer. The system is sweet!
