BazookaTube in my truck. Need help!
Hi all,
Hey my tube is not working. So, I opened it and discovered that the amp that is held together by a single piece of plastic, the piece of crap snapped and separated from the wiring/speaker harness circuit board. I never touched my tube and it is great secure position. Can anyone help me on how to get it fixed! Oh, one more thing! I personally think the construction/ design of how the amp is mounted with only a little piece of plastic is a bad idea, there is no support for the weight of that amp and with the bass it produces, seems to me once that inferior plastic mount fails it snaps off the wiring circuit board. It almost seems that it was engineered that way in time it would fail. Why not add a support piece under the amp and securely attached to the base of the tube. Well, I sure you all can explain to how I can get this problem fixed. Thanks!
Please, view my picture and tell me how I can fix this problem. Thanks!

I think yours must have been defective. I have one and I've kicked the crap out of it including jumping the truck and it hasn't broken.
Is that a 6", 8" or 10" tube? Mines an 8, but maybe there's a difference in construction.
As far as fixing it is concerned, you obviously need to fab some support, and then reconnect the two sections (input module and amplifier module). I haven't been inside mine for quite awhile so I don't remember it's configuration all that much.
I purchased mine broken but what was bad was the input level control. I just bypassed it and use a remote pot instead.
I don't know as anyone can describe to you exactly how to fab out a new support though.

Somebody goofed during molding of the piece, or ed it during final assembly would be my guess. Sometimes you can pick up broken tubes (broken for other reasons) pretty cheap.
I've been running mine for a few years now through a lot of offroad bumping (I even jumped the truck a bit) and so far no problem. I have it mounted on the "ledge" at the rear of my 2 door extended cab using straps (though not the ones from Bazooka).

The new amps look different than mine, but I understand they push more watts. I guess the bigger amp requires more heat sinks and additional boards. Just looks like you got one that was weak or badly formed. Try calling SAS and see if they can send you out a part. They are usually pretty good with customer support.
