Icon5 F-150 Sub options

My buddy has a 95 F-150 regular cab. What sub suggestions do you guys have and how to mount them?

What are his budget and goals? Does he just want to be loud and that's it, or does he care about how it sounds? Or is he more into sounding great while getting decently loud? With a regular cab he's probably stuck looking at shallow mount subwoofers behind the seat or building a custom center console to put a subwofer in (if he has bucket seats).

PS: First post, FTW! being a lurker sucked so I registered a little bit ago. :)

Thanks. His budget is right around 3-400 bucks. He has the bench seat not the buckets so yes he has to get shallow mount subs. He wants bass that sounds decent but doesnt have to sound perfect. He wants a good system for his budget

I haven't done so, but will do so shortly. I get suckered in towards the audio section pretty quickly. It's a bad habit, I know.

To the OP, does your friend have $400 to spend on an amp and a sub(s) or just the subwoofer(s)? If he doesn't care so much for how good it sounds and just wants it to hit hard, look into the shallow CV's.

I stick by the CV's if he isn't into SQ. If he cares how they sound though, two of these puppies will work well: Parts-Express.com:Tang Band WT-1427B 10" Neo Subwoofer | subwoofer 10" subwoofer low profile thin mount neodynium subwoofer tangband tb speakers

As for an amp under/around 200 bones, I'm not sure of any. you could find some used though. Maybe a used Sundown 125.2.

In my F150 im going with exile 10xt sub and a sundown amp. The exile subs are the best ive heard for shallow subs. With a 300w rms and 600w peak and only a .3 cu ft. sealed box, that is what a shallow sub should be. I would go with the exile's or JL tw5.
