Will Polk MMC570 speakers fit in 2008 Ranger?

Hello Everyone. This is my first post here. Thanks for all the great info.

My wife and I just bought a 2008 Ford Ranger Extended Cab. Manual locks and windows. So far, we love it :).

We want to buy Polk MMC570 speakers (5x7 Coax's), but Crutchfield's site says that they don't fit. Is this because of the mounting depths (2 9/16's top and 2 3/4's bottom)?

Anyone installed these speakers in an 08 Ranger?

If they won't fit, any alternative suggestions for speakers?

You should be able to make them fit. I haven't tried them, but there hasn't been a 5x7 or a 6-1/2 speaker that I haven't been able to get to fit. Might need to do a thin adapter plate.

An amp does make a huge difference, I picked up a Kenwood KAC7203 @ Fry's last weekend for $100. Thinking about going and getting another one and a sub to get the base out of the door speakers. The base is really good in these MMC570's but I want to get it out of the doors and into a sub encloser.
