Deck questions

Got 2 10's and a 600 watt amp for free, now I need a deck. Anyone suggest one? MUST be under 130 or so.

Looking at this one,

I like this one cause of the USB drive. Makes it easy to throw a bunch of songs on a thumb drive and play them. I'm terrible with CD's so this one makes the most sense.
Alpine MP3 / WMA CD Car Deck (CDE-100) - Best Buy Canada

This one is cheaper, and it still has an AUX input, so I can connect my Ipod.

Sony MP3/WMA CD Car Deck with Aux Input (CDXGT240) - Best Buy Canada

Open to suggestions, I know dick all about audio

crutchfeild.com

kds-100, that's what i have, i love it, sounds great, BUT, they don't ship to canada, so you either need a friend in the states to re-ship it, or a PO box in point roberts (except i don't think they ship to PO boxes either) or need to find a shipping broker... the other thing you can do is hit up cash converters, i bought a few decks from there for like 20-50$

i dont' like either of those decks you posted, i'm not a fan of sony, their quality, imo is questionable... and the first one looks bad, but it's your truck, and your tastes

i been running Sony 4 years with no complaints at all but here is my point ...............
if you wont to run a I-pod at least spend a few bucks more and get a unit with a USB port.
Ether its Alpine,Sony,Kennwood or what ever the Ipod runs soooooo much better off a USB port than any thing else..

I like the Pioneer units a lot. Don't go with Crutchfield, their prices are high compared to a lot of other places.

AWSOME! thats right in my price range!

Please dont suggest a $600 minimum deck when I clearly state that it has to be less than 130.

AND, if your not going to take the time to read my thread, don't take the time to respond to it.

Haha it wouldn't be $600. But it wouldn't be $130 either.

Its got nothing to do with money, I just dont need that. I have a GPS for my truck that I use for mapping out trails, and I dont live in the best neighbour hood, so the least flashy the better.

Question: are you looking to add any amplifiers to your system at any time in the future?
If you are, I suggest getting a deck that has at least 2 pre-outs (front and rear). 3 would be better (Front, rear and subs)

The best suggestion is to go in to a store (ie Future Shop, etc.) take in your favourite CD and try your CD in several different units without changing the speakers to see which one sounds the best. Also find the one that you find is the easiest to use right from the beginning, that way you're not fumbling with it while driving down the road.
