moving the radio antenna

Has anyone done this? I want to change the location to the roof if possible...
This is on a coworkers truck and she has issues with things that swing - like the antennain the wind or while driving - gives her panic attacks...

I wouldn't put one on the roof.Get one that can be angled and mount it on the passenger side rear corner of the cab with the base about level with the bottom of the rear window. It will be out of her sight , easy to mount and run cable . If you put it on the roof , if she ever goes into a parking garage it will probably get damaged and possibly get a leak when it rains.

Aye, dont put it on the roof. I keep a fresh Jack in the Box styrofoam head on my antenna it doesnt flop around so much with it It looks a lot like this
Makes it easy to find in parking lots too.

99 Cents at participating Jack in the Boxes....

But seriously, try one of those Billet Antennas, they are very stiff and dont flex much. That might work and she can still put Jack on top there.

Thanks for the help! The Billet antenna sounds like a good idea... Will they fit a 2007 Ford Ranger???

haha, I think we can dig one up and mail it to ya Or Ebay!!!

And thats bad to ehar about that phobia there... I used to know a buddy that had the saem type of situation, it was the motion in the corner of the eye that woudl set off a random panic attack.. it took him about 3 years to figure out what the heck was causing it, and it was only when he was driving alone.. having someone else in the car it wasnt near as bad.
