I'm looking for a new sub. Don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but not being cheap either. has to be a 10", with dual voice coils. needs to be on the shallower side as my box isn't very deep. here is the info on my amp.

250 Watts X 2 Channels @ 4 Ohms
350 Watts X 2 Channels @ 2 Ohms
450 Watts X 2 Channels @ 1 Ohm
700 Watts X 1 Channel @ 4 Ohms Bridged

i don't know what price range you are looking in but i have one of these in my 87 and it sounds amazing Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1000F Shallow-mount 10" 4-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

 

kicker cvr.... great sub at a breat price and you could run 2 10's it will sound sooo good.. if you can can you find out your avail. mounting depth so we know...

 

i want to say it's 5" +/- 1/2" or so

that kenwood is probably a little over what i want to spend, but could be a possibility.

 

well to get a dvc woofer that is good woofer, that can handle that much power that is shallow

 

? did you forget something? the kicker cvr would be great, as long as it would fit in my box. here is a shot of the box just to give you an idea.

 

lol i guess i did..... it will be hard to find a woofer that will fit in there.... btw sick set up....

kicker CVT is the same thing as te cvr but a shallow mount of 4 5/16... id go for that

 

Get a Kicker Cvt it shallower than the cvr but they both have the same magnets in them

 

also great sub.... the cvt can handle about 100 more rms but both great choices.... now your turn to pick the piosen(sp?)

 

thanks. this is a temp setup. the box used to be for 2 12s, but downsized to a single 10 when i redid the interior. i have another box sitting, waiting to go in, but i have to get my stepside back on and do the blow thru first. it's a big, slot ported box for 2 10s. basically takes up the front 1/3 of the bed.

i will check out the ones posted. i might get the RF

 

Yeah Kicker came out with new models of subs last month so it would be nice to have one of those. That box would be perfect for it.

 

found the cvt for a little less than the rf. i'll have to look a little more. any info on a bt hu?

alright, been looking some more tonight. the sub i have now has a 5" mounting depth. it's really close to hitting the back of the box. so 5" is the max i can go.

I like the kicker cvt, but it's only a single vc. i plan to only run one. how would i go about wiring it?

i would go with the mtx 10" shallow mount... it's tiny, pounds hard, but needs a .89 cubic foot box, and it's a few bucks

 

couldn't find what i think i need.

the sub is a svc 2ohm. i searched some more, and have found nothing showing 2ohm.

if i go with the "bridged" marks on the amp, and go +to+ -to-, that should give me the 800 Watts X 1 @ 2 Ohms Bridged....correct?

 

no since you are bridging it at the am it will cute the impedance in half and run it a 1 ohm... you would need a 4 ohm svc woofer
