new speakers or new stereo?

ive got a 97 standard cab and would like it to be louder than it is right now. im debating if i want to get new speakers or a new stereo. im thinking about these speakers would like to spend 75 or less. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Kicker+-...&skuId=1671453. what do you guys think of these. im either getting a pair of speakers or a new radio. what do you guys think of this radio http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+5...&skuId=1149978. if i got thise stereo would i have to get a bracket to make up the difference in sizes from the stock to this one. thank you for any informaton and opinons.

I'd say head unit first then speakers. The head unit will increase the quality of your stock speakers and allows you to plug in aux. I have the more expensive version, but I have a couple of friends that have that one, it works well. You should spend the little extra money and buy the one with the ipod cord if you have one. The ipod has a much better sound quality than the radio.

i have one of the dc adapters for my ipod but sometimes there is static. i need to buy either the speakers or the head unit from best buy since i will be using a bestbuy gift card to pay for it. if i get a new head unit would i have to get a bracket to make up the space between the new head unit and the stock one?

yes, you will need a dash kit and a wiring harness.
I owuld stay away from sony xplod units. it was my first aftermarket HU 5 years ago. I was a audio noob. the EQ options are meh, large amounts of static from the aux inputs. cd's skip quite easy also. with that said, chk out this head unit:

i think im going to go with speakers instead. ill probaly replace the head unit later when i have some more money.since ill have to buy all the extra parts and spend around a 100 instead of 50 to get a better quality unit. with that what do you guys think of these kickers. they have really good reviews from the best buy set.http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Kicker+-...&skuId=1671453.

I have that head unit and I love it. So I would say get it, then in a few months get some good speakers when you have the money. :)

Yes I got it from Best Buy and I had to buy a harness because I went from my stock to that Sony. I also had to buy a bracket because the stock stereo was so much bigger. Took me about an hour to install but it was my first time ever doing anything like that. lol

I would check out Crutchfield.com and read reviews on speakers. Those people know their stuff and the people who buy them leave great reviews.
Good luck on the search.

These are the ones I want after I get an aftermarket stereo.

what do you guys think of this head unit i like it a lot http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1303300...B.html?tp=5684 or i am thinking about this package deal http://www.crutchfield.com/p_700KD10...e.html?tp=5684 i like that i would be able to replace both at the same time but i dont really want to sacrifice on quality. is the pioneer worth the 80 bucks?
